What you'll need to get ready to bring your puppy home!
When a puppy goes to a new home, it may take time for them to adjust, which can affect their eating habits. Follow your puppy’s written go-home feeding instructions, and ask your veterinarian about the meal schedule and any glucose supplement your puppy may need, including during travel.
Here I have listed some of the items that will come in handy to prepare yourself for when you bring your little furry friend home!
Getting ready for your puppy
Before pickup

Move cords, cleaners, medicines and small objects out of reach.

Prepare a quiet puppy-safe area with a playpen, cozy bed, fresh water and a separate potty-pad spot.

Arrange the first vet visit and save your vet’s number and the nearest emergency clinic’s details.

Plan a safe ride home with suitable transport secured according to the manufacturer’s instructions. A purse-style carrier is not automatically a car restraint.
A few helpful basics

A gentle brush and comb, puppy shampoo, a small soft toothbrush and dog toothpaste.

Pet-appropriate enzyme cleaner, paper towels and waste bags.

A lightweight leash and an ID tag with your contact number.
The first few days

Continue your puppy’s current Farmina food and follow the go-home feeding instructions.

Keep the potty-pad location consistent and gently reward successful use.

Keep introductions calm, supervise exploring and allow plenty of quiet rest.
